Climate Reality Project: NoCo

The CRP-NOCO Chapter offers tools, training, and a network to fight climate change and together build the world we want. The Premise of CRP-NOCO is that MAKING A DIFFERENCE is:

· personal

· empowering

· and starts with people like you

This past year our chapter enhanced its presence in the State by joining the Colorado Coalition for a livable climate. CCLC now enhances our potential by providing information about timely Political action our chapter members -citizen activists- can take locally, and in state government. CRP-NOCO has recently organized efforts around the following committee initiatives:

Education

The education committee will reach out to and have conversations with community organizations, approaching without political bias.

Political Action Committee

Political Action focus is increasing public support for legislative and regulatory climate progress through Citizen testimony, and comments submitted to scheduled hearings. Committee leadership will provide calls to action for key legislative, policy, and regulatory hearings and education on submitting testimony and comment. We are adding a chapter website and a phone text alert system to push to committee members time-critical “calls to action” for hearings on legislation and rulemaking.

Coalition Committee

The Goal of the Coalition committee includes recruiting, onboarding and retention through outreach to new members and motivation of existing members.

Steering Committee

The goal of the Steering Committee is to support the chapter committees in setting and accomplishing chapter goals.
